Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistic Specialist to join our supply chain team. The Logistic Specialist will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our logistics and transportation operations. This position requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, warehouse, and distribution, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock.
- Transportation Management:
- Plan and coordinate shipments, including selecting carriers, scheduling deliveries, and tracking shipments to ensure on-time arrivals.
- Negotiate transportation rates and contracts with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Resolve any transportation-related issues, such as delays or damages, in a timely manner.
- Inventory Control:
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
- Work on initiatives to improve inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain all necessary shipping and customs documentation, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with import/export regulations and trade compliance requirements.
- Cost Analysis and Budgeting:
- Analyze logistics costs and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Assist in developing and managing the logistics budget.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the logistics function.
- Implement best practices and efficiency improvements in logistics operations.
- Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure the smooth flow of information and materials.
- Provide regular updates on logistics performance and key metrics to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
