Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our optical team. The Sales Associate – Optical will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our customers while assisting them in finding the perfect eyewear solutions. This position requires a strong passion for fashion, an eye for detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Conduct thorough consultations to understand customers’ optical needs and preferences.
- Provide accurate and helpful information on eyewear styles, lens options, and other optical products.
- Ensure a positive and memorable shopping experience for all customers.
- Sales:
- Effectively communicate the benefits of various eyewear products to customers.
- Recommend appropriate frames, lenses, and lens coatings based on customer prescriptions and lifestyle.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and objectives while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Process transactions, handle cash, and maintain accurate sales records.
- Product Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest eyewear trends, frame brands, and lens technologies.
- Educate customers about the features and benefits of different eyewear products.
- Assist in inventory management, including restocking frames and lenses as needed.
- Lens and Prescription Expertise:
- Verify prescription information and ensure all necessary details are correctly entered.
- Explain lens options, coatings, and enhancements to customers.
- Collaborate with the optical lab to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Fitting and Adjustments:
- Properly fit and adjust eyeglasses for customers to ensure comfort and optimal vision.
- Make minor repairs and adjustments to frames and eyeglasses.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate customer records and prescription files.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Optical Store Manager and other team members to achieve store goals.
- Assist with merchandising and keeping the optical area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in optics or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in optical sales or a similar customer service role is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of eyewear brands, lens types, and prescription terminology.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and point-of-sale software.
- A passion for fashion and an eye for style trends.
- Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on optical industry developments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the store.
- Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
